LoriNye.com is now Nye Insurance — same trusted broker, just a new name.
Long-term care is help with daily life at home or in a residence. Tell us a little about your situation and, with your permission, we will introduce you to a specialist.

Medicare and individual health plans cover doctor visits, hospital stays, and prescriptions. They generally do not pay for ongoing help with bathing, dressing, meals, or supervision when memory changes. A short stay in a skilled nursing facility after a hospital visit is a different benefit, and it ends.
A long-term care policy is meant for the cost of that daily help, at home or in a facility, so a family is not paying for it entirely out of savings. It is medically underwritten. The earlier someone looks, the more options are usually open.
The same policy can be designed around more than one setting. A specialist matches the benefit to the kind of care you actually want.
Help with bathing, dressing, meals, and getting around, so someone can stay in the house longer.
A residence with daily support, meals, and staff nearby, short of a nursing facility.
A more supervised setting for Alzheimer’s, dementia, or another cognitive illness.
Round-the-clock care when home or assisted living is no longer enough.
Many traditional policies are issued from about age 40 to 79, and the price climbs with age. People often call after a parent needed care, while they are planning retirement, or because a financial advisor suggested it. Couples are often quoted together, because shared benefits and a couple discount can change the numbers.
If savings outside the home are very limited, a policy may not be the right tool. Medicaid planning is sometimes a better fit. The form asks for a range, not an account balance, so the specialist can tell the difference before anyone spends time on a quote that will not work.
Washington has a state program, WA Cares, with its own rules. It is not the same thing as a private long-term care policy. Tell us your state on the form and the specialist can explain how the two fit. Oregon does not have an equivalent state program.
This site will eventually point to a practice dedicated to long-term care. For now, the conversation starts here. The form is short on purpose.
We share the form with a trusted long-term care specialist only if you authorize it. Without that permission, we cannot make the introduction.
We follow up within 24 hours. If you also need health insurance, say so on the form and we will help with that directly.
General information, not a quote. Whether a policy is available depends on the carrier, your age, your health, and your state.
